[285] Darling of my soul.
I am here safe & well. but very very sad. I have seen +++ settled her. seen Sallie & settled her with regard to her packing. am now on my way to the city to see about some matters there [?] & then to Staten [?] Island where I remain until Monday morning when I come up to +++. I shall find a letter from my darling. I shall send your box [?] back
[285 reverse] my precious & in it all my +++ +++ receipts & Bills which you will take care of against I come back. some Envelopes stamped which you will use. a Bronze [?] lamp [?] of Aunt Emma [?] +++ you will take care of her. some letters of mine. from your father & Mr Macalister which you must take care of.
