[281] Monday PM.
safe & well my own darling child. I have just seen aunt Emma off to Ridgefield & now am here for a little rest before the play. I shall stay here until Thursday morning. & then go to New York so that if Grand ma dont [sic] want to stay longer than over night at Mrs Cushmans. she had better not come until Thursday morning. However she can do just as she
[281 reverse] pleases about it. I will write to Mrs Cushman to expect her on either day. God love you my precious darling. I do not feel to have seen any thing of you this last week. & I fear I have caused you more excitement than is good for you. but I will do it no more & you must forgive me. I am very anxious about you. so you will
[282] be careful for my sake, will you not? I am glad Mary Booth will be with you. she is a cheerful nice little thing. & I am very glad Mrs Hughes [?] remains until Wednesday [?] morning. God bless you my sweet daughter. & make you as happy as I wish you. will you please have this note put in to an Envelope & sent round to Mrs Truman as early as you can. after receipt - Kiss & love me as your
[282 reverse] own fond auntie. Ladie.
