Text
- Wednesday - Thanks for yr letter of Saturday my dear love you don't know how glad I was of it - I can only tell you this - perhaps you can explain it - I am puzzled - it came along with a
letter tht had been "purifiée au lazaret."You
may guess who wrote it. I opened yours
first & had long word this before I broke
the seal of he other! I was just as glad
of it as if it had come all alone by itself.
I read it twice thus before I read the other
twice! - (that) I went Down Town last Saturday
specially & principally to try to see a notice of
yr "Viola" but cd not. I shall see the Gazette
& Athanaeum for next Saturday when it will be
in - our paper very rarely has any theatrical
notice - Frank sends you his best love he
is as pleased as I am when a letter from
you comes - My dear love I feel very anxious
about you. It seems to me when people have
attained yr height the wear & tear of keeping
up is worse than all the fatigue & worry of thinking
you seem to me ? that wary ? your last.
