Text

Darling Miss Cushman,
Need I tell you how grateful I am for your thought of me, and how pleased I was at your present, --suffice it is to say that through the politeness of Capt Leitch I received it safely and longed for your presence to kiss, and bless you. I am at the Boston Theater, but most uncomfortable; Mrs Davenport rendering it unpleasant, however I shall try and bear it with gentleness and patience, and hope for better
Your instructions, dear to me, as ever, are not forgotten or neglected by me, but studied carefully and cherished most dearly by me . Mr Pray I see often; his son was married last this [inserted] week they are all well and ask you to write me often the knoledge [sic] of [last three words inserted] your extensive correspondence forbidding me, but let me sometimes hear from, you that I may feel I am remembered by one whom I love so dearly. God bless you no one gives me candy now!
Your "Juliet"
