[2999] My dear Emma

I got home thursday night at 10. havig [sic] had a deliteful [sic] trip far beyond my expectation much of my description I must +++ till I see you as super+++ are deficient to express the +++ I have of the Country—yor[sic] mother & +++ are well but the weather is very warm 8 Ce to go by it taking the  out of us all. very  fast especially do I feel it coming from the bracing air of the Rocky Mountains

[2999 reverse] where +++ 10500 feet +++ & the bracing air of the +++ +++ to 5000 feet high—So we Shall get away as soon as we can perhaps [abt] the +++ or 7 June—& as Minnie is very solicitary we should stop at her sister's one day in +++, & we may do So it convenient arriving in N.Y. abt 9 or 10th or here we may stay till Isabels [sic] School is out— Nothing abt Ned later than yr letter.  +++ +++ was in yesterday to ask abt him, his latest +++ was a week old—He said the mill was not doing quite so well +++ +++ +++ having short

[3000] I note what you say abt way +++ think of his care till I come on & give me your +++ as to what is best—also I am anxious about Cornelia’s health—what is best for her She must have a change I suppose & yet I dont [sic] see +++ she can go to Malvern well, in view of the claims at home still She must have a change & make an effort to get her system in better State—How can it be done & what is the  best plan? you +++ not say as much to her Still I wish to do what will bring it

[3000 reverse] about in some or +++— Tho' She has other responsibilities which are to be thought of there are the [sic] her boys & her husband to +++ave all there in your mind as well as Isabell & we will talk them over freely when we meet I have gathered no local news as yet—this am. met Mrs Sheply[?] in Market who told me Hitchcock was due in San Francisco 13th, June & +++ Collier in Ne [sic] York 12 June. this hot weather will came a great way to be cooking east ward— give our love to all & Kisses to the boys—

[3001] Tell Carlino I have no boy to go on the "Gee Gee" now & have only Polly to play with, & Polly +++ me in Italian & french—I saw such pretty +++ in the mountains & thought of them if they were living in the country where they could keep them— You will have him to write me on +++ this please say what part of the house at west minster we ought to ask for a room in? I hear Mr. whittaker is better but dont [sic] hear a word of John—Suppose you & Ned +++ seen him.

[3001 reverse] Mr +++ giving a great entertainment on Monday 4 to 8 oclk on his +++ the anniversary of +++ I shall perheps [sic] go when Nelsson[?] was here Can't She sent to yr mother for your address, & did not send card I think it was not very civil to yr mother had I hear a poor house—good bye, Yrs truly

Just as I close there comes in a letter in yr hand writing to Ned, postmarked 24th—So I think we shall see him soon—
