Description
Similar to the Fayettewille Weekly Democrat report, this article refers to the Washington Chronicle account given by Celia Logan in which she speaks of Cushman's love life premised on "personal observation." Both newspapers that react to Logan's account appear to be highly critical of it and seem to side with Cushman's supporters.

Text
Celia Logan writes to the Washington Chronicle, animadverting severly upon the character of the late Charlotte Cushman. Miss logan claims to know from personal observation that Miss Cushman was parsimonious, envious and selfish. Perhaps so. There is light and shade to every human character, but the shade does not destroy the light.
