            <text>In &lt;a href="https://archivalgossip.com/collection/admin/items/show/432"&gt;#432&lt;/a&gt;, Cushman states that she "came here [Edinburgh] last Monday [Aug 16]". Since Cushman had already met Sir James at the time of this letter, she must have been in Edinburgh (=location) and the letter must have been written between August 26 and 31. &lt;br /&gt;Cushman talks about the straps being removed from her breast and about Ned remaining in America, which would place the letter after the surgery and after &lt;a href="https://archivalgossip.com/collection/admin/items/show/904"&gt;#904&lt;/a&gt;. But the only remaining Wednesday during this timeframe would be Aug 26, which would not make any sense unless the surgery was dated wrong by Cushman/had been brought forward.</text>
