I want you & Jamie to come here & see us & give us some vitality. Although I am so much better in almost all ways I begin to find that there <br /><br /></span>[page 2] is not much spring left in me. I want to be taken up bodily & made to do whatever is right & good & pleasant. Emma Cushman came to town on Friday & came down here to stay over Saty [Saturday] & Sunday night. Yesterday +++ she <span style="text-decoration: underline;">took </span>me into town with her on her way home to her babies at Newport & I was much better for the jaunt in the nice cool day. So you see I can be moved when the right spirit influences me. Do come over & see us & <br /><br /><span>[page 3] let us talk about what can & what cannot be done. & move </span><span>our good host & hostess to stay [?] with in, & then, will things be carried out. Emma Stebbins is in a very hurt & poorly state. difficult to move. & perhaps that is one reason why I am less energetic. she sends dear love to you & wants to see you very much. you know she is here with me. I want to hear so much That you can tell me about lots of things. <a href="https://www.archivalgossip.com/collection/items/show/1" title="Charlotte Cushman">Cushman</a> wants the Field family to come over for a visit, mentioning her bitterness and lack of vitality. The doctor calls her a "miracle" even though she does not feel well, as she admits. <a href="https://www.archivalgossip.com/collection/items/show/6" title="Emma Crow Cushman">Emma Cushman</a> came around to see her and they took off to town together. <a href="https://www.archivalgossip.com/collection/items/show/2" title="Emma Stebbins">Emma Stebbins</a> on the other hand seems to be in a poor state, which worries Cushman.<br />
