The anniversary of your poor dear mothers [sic] burial. must not pass without a word from me to you even though I have not much else to say. These anniversaries are full of sad & tender memories to me. & I hope you not forget them! Your letter of the 11' april [sic]. reached me in +++. I am sorry to hear that you have lost money in your business among the last six months. but you have had so much good luck in you life. That you must not +++ at this especialy [sic] as the war likely to be over. Exchange will drop[?] some[?] & your increased income will come through that [underlined] if not through a large amount invested! - I will go more thoroughly into your expenditures. when I had a little more time. just now, I will only say. That I think you may do without a carriage perfectly well. My stable is full of horses & carriages & you will have no need that cannot very well be met there- unless it is a saddle horse - which you may perhaps be able to afford at  40 +++ in month: - Emma thought to buy a carriage & horses with her money her father gave her at +++ but I think she can +++ it better! - I shall hope +++ +++ so +++ as to find you are entirely +++ appartment which will be more what Mr Crow & Emma would like & what may be better for all - in the long run!
I have no doubt that you will be able to make all ends meet. as your life in Rome better ever than you could in america [sic]- if you were out of business. & I dont [sic] know what business you could be in - that one could feel safe for your interest out of Mr Crows[sic] house I wish Mr C. would have[?] a +++ house East a little +++ that you could go into. but I must talk wit him later. +++ mind your Uncle Charles' speeches +++ is a baby. & his grandmother. ditto! ++++ +++ you ought to have sent the receipt [underlined] to him. as much as though it had been a bill of lading. - I look with anxiety for the next letters meanwhile - now & ever. I am your fondly loving - auntie
I want to know very much if [sic] Mr Crow
